They reviewed the "West Valley Lofts Mixed-Use PRoject" which was a proposed development for a mix-used project that would demolish an auto-repair buildings with 35 residential units. Will also have retail units.

Many of the Commissioners had reservations about the development because the retail space was too small.

Although one of the commissioners sounded like they were initially opposed to the development, they said they would be more in favor of it if hte "token retail component" was removed and it was totally residential instead of mixed-use.

A lot of people contest the "mixed-use" category because of the small amount of retail space.

There was a discussion about how close it would be to a nearby creek and whether there would be a common area. This dominated the meeting. They decided to extend the public review until next May. Neither a victory or defeat for housing, but some floated the idea of scrapping it all together so this is still a concern.

Next there was a review for a conditional use unit for a training facility. A guy wanted to set up a training facility in a warehouse. They approved it.

Next there was a review for an extension for a single family home. They were adding a porch and garage. They approved it.

Next they reviewed the demolition of a house and a construction of a new, bigger single family home. They approved it.
